| Description | Biogerontology: EU-, BMBF-, and National Genome Research Network II-supported clinical and experimental research on the molecular etiology and physiology of longevity and healthy ageing of the human organism as well as intrinsic and hormally-induced ageing of human skin. Dermato-Endocrinology: Clinical and experimental studies on endocrine-controlled cells, organs, functions and diseases of the skin; especially studies on cultured sebocytes, on the sebaceous gland, the metabolism of vitamine A and retinoids, of androgen hormones, neuropeptides and other hormones. BMBF (Stem Cell Research)-supported experimental research on the reprogramming of skin stem cells of several age groups as research tools for individual therapy, toxicologic tests and early diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer's disease). EU-NETVAL member. |
